I tried watching this one a while back, i was very impatient and switched it off about 30mins into the film. I have read some really great reviews about it, so I decided to give it a another and I’m really glad I did.
The film is set in the 80’s and they do a really great job. It looks and feels exactly like you are sitting watching an old school 80’s horror film.
The film is slow, but if you can get past that then you will really enjoy it . It’s no secret that the film is a about some sort of cult, hence the name “house of the devil”
Strange stuff starts to happen when a desperate babysitter agrees to take on a a job on the same night a lunar eclipse is happening ( big no no ) she suspects something strange from the moment she enters the house but still agrees to take on the job when offered more money (greedy bitch) and so begins her babysitting job in the “house of the devil”.
I was impressed by the final outcome,I do admit I was tempted again to turn it off (as its really slow)but i persevered and really enjoyed it, and there is just something about a decent satanic cult movie that always freaks me out and I think this one was executed very well. Although not extremely scary, these guys set out to make an old school horror flick and that exactly what they done.
